Missing out on the good things in life? Dwelling on the past? Feeling down?

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for depression is an eight-week group. MBCT combines mindfulness with Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT). If you are wondering what mindfulness is, this quote may provide some insight: “Mindfulness is the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally, to things as they are.” (Williams, Teasdale, Segal, and Kabat-Zinn, 2007). You will learn a way to change how you relate to bodily sensations, feelings and thoughts that may lead to a relapse of depressive symptoms.

You should be aware that group members will be encouraged to complete daily mindfulness homework (up to one hour).
